We stand and watch as you march by - Wipe tears of pride - from swollen eyes; Our hands, our hearts are lifted high, Thank God for you - each girl and guy! With shaken hearts, our prayers - our dreams Our Hallelujahs drown out screams - You went - you served - to keep us safe, Returned unharmed, ‘twas God’s pure grace. But there are those - who gave yet more, Who bled and died on that distant shore. Listen and hear their still small voice, "Twas not in vain - it was my choice.' Tonight we’ll sleep in comfort’s arms; Our hearts will feel no fear or harm, For you - our dear ones - marching by Have kept us safe - this is our cry! Thank God for soldiers - brave and true. Forever --- we will honor you. © by: Becky Campbell Ostrzycki |
